Down the ramp into the rear car park - note
the not very large gap between the water and the ceiling of the
covered section of the car park. |
The rear car park - just to the right of the
brick wall is where I often park my car. The water there is now
about 4 feet deep. |

Malcolm from the Facilities department
- a slight departure from his normal job. It was a very cold day,
so I hope he had his thermals on. |
Well, that's one way of testing
the anti-corrosion treatment. I'm no expert on cars, but I think
this one is gonna be difficult to start. |

View from the restaurant - it's
hard to see where the garden ends and the River Thames begins. |
The back garden - only the raised
area and the steps to the restaurant are still accessible. |
|
|
The Runnymede Hotel - a nice
picturesque setting by the side of a lake. However, the lake isn't
supposed to be there - that's their car park. |
I'm not actually sure about purpose
of this building and it's twin. But I'm fairly sure that it wasn't
designed to be standing in water. |

The only way to navigate the
Staines to Windsor road. Yes, that is a road. |
Well, that's another way of doing
it. Note the 'Flood' sign. Yeah, thanks... I hadn't noticed. |

It looks like a lake. But in
fact it's usually open grass-land frequented by dog walkers. And
there's a fun-fair in this exact spot once a year. |
The only way to get to the hotel
reception. The sign claims it's "The Best Riverside Address
In The Thames Valley". It's now in the Thames. |
