Welcome to the club Daz. Is almost 3 weeks since I last booted Windows, I am now happily running on Ubuntu. No problems so far.
For networking I use WICD rather than the default Network Manager, is more stable.

Oh yes, I do use Symphony 98% of the time already. My 1-2-3 spreadsheet has a couple of macros which I'd have to re-write - it's a matter of time and getting round to it.

Have you considered using Lotus Symphony? It's free and has a Ubuntu distro. It does import .123 files. I haven't used any 123 files for a while. I'll be interested to see if it works for you. Post your results if you can.
